As Michigan’s economy slowly begins to rebound, the Prima Civitas Foundation (PCF) is continuing to lead the way in pursuing new and innovative opportunities that will create jobs, strengthen our communities and generate prosperity throughout our state.
Michigan municipalities – including counties, cities, townships, and villages - increasingly face a sense of urgency relating to multiple economic issues. Some of these issues include:
- Loss of business, jobs, and talent
- Strain on government resources/legacy costs
- Innovation, reinvention, and meeting the demands of a 21st century economy
Utilizing staff and partner expertise that includes a collective 250 years of state and local experience, PCF will assemble a “Project Team” to offer pragmatic, experienced problem solving on a local and regional basis.
PCF’s response to municipal issues includes the following:
- Aggregating knowledge and deploying resources throughout networks
- Providing governmental service-sharing options to local governments
- Creating regional non-governmental organizations
- Applying the National Academy of Science and Davison Model© processes with partners Engineering Society of Detroit Institute, and Michigan State University (Land Policy Institute and MSU Extension) to guide and facilitate a community’s re-envisioning effort
- Facilitating Aerotropolis zones and regional development
- Analyzing administrative structures of local governments for cost efficiencies and service delivery
