Peter Briggs (Director – Office for International Students and Scholars, Michigan State University)
Peter Briggs has served as Director of the OISS since October 2001. He has more than 30 years experience in the field of services to international students and scholars. Prior to coming to MSU, Peter served in a number of administrative roles at the University of Oregon and was a grants administrator at the Institute of International Education. He has held a variety of leadership roles and served on boards for NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the Council of International Schools and Educational Evaluators, Inc. Peter holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Washington and a master's degree in Education Policy and Management from the University of Oregon. His extensive professional travels have taken him throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia.
Justin Caine (Co-Owner and Operating Manager – Good Fruit, LLC)
Justin Caine is the co-owner of Good Fruit Video, an award winning video company, which primarily provides internet videos for organizations, of events and programs. Their clients include Sparrow Hospital, the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, Lake Trust Credit Union, Dean Trailways of Michigan along with many other businesses, non-profits and PR firms. Justin also helped create a local grass roots organization, Lunch With a Purpose and is the President of Battlefield Brawl, a fundraiser which raises money for pediatric neurology and also sits on several committees and boards throughout the Greater Lansing area. Justin has been honored with several awards including Ten over the Next Ten in 2009 and was recently named Volunteer Philanthropist of the Year by the Mid-Michigan chapter of the Association for Fundraising Professionals.
Mary Dunbar (Executive Director – The Pokagon Fund)
Mary Dunbar is the Executive Director of The Pokagon Fund in New Buffalo, MI, a private foundation funded by The Four Winds Casino Resort. She was hired in 2007 as the foundation’s first Executive Director. She also serves as a trustee to the Berrien Community Foundation. Prior to 2007, Mary provided program and fundraising consultation and capacity building to nonprofit organizations in the South Bend, IN area. Mary also served as Director of Community Affairs for 22WSBT television in South Bend, where she founded the station’s holiday campaign, 22 Ways of Giving, for which she won a national award for community service. Additionally, Mary has founded two nonprofits, Make a Difference Michiana and the Diaper Bank of Michiana and has been instrumental in the creation of numerous other nonprofit organizations in Michigan and Indiana.
