"Prima Civitas" may be translated in Latin as either "First City" or "First State." Embracing both meanings, the Prima Civitas initiative seeks to help the greater Mid-Michigan region in order to make Michigan the most innovative state in the nation.
To enhance Mid-Michigan, Prima Civitas emphasizes sustainable entrepreneurship, job growth, wealth creation, higher quality of life, equitable educational opportunities and a strong community identity, commitment, and momentum.
