Prima Civitas Gears Up to Help Students Prepare for STEM Careers
Prima Civitas and Michigan State University are putting the finishing touches on a unique initiative to help students throughout the state gain exposure to the science and engineering of chemical manufacturing in a “green” environment. The K-12 Competitive Chemical Scale-Up project is a partnership with the MSU Bioeconomy Institute in Holland to provide middle and high school science students and their teachers—competing in teams—with the unusual experience of transitioning a “green” chemical process from the schoolroom lab bench to a plant production process.
Though a combination of Internet and video resources, students will be introduced to chemical process scale-up—an opportunity very few middle and high school students are afforded. Click here to read the full story.
